A very special person named Karin is why I’m climbing to Base Camp Everest, Oct 2010. Karen is my sister and I would walk to the ends of the earth for her. Karin was diagnosed 25 yrs ago with M.S, and to perform the simplist lifes tasks, or enjoy some of lifes pleasures are out of reach for her. This pains my heart! This climb is what I can do to raise money for research in hopes that maybe one day Karin can live an unassisted life. A life that she alone controls. I have experienced altitude sickness climbing Mt Kilimanjaro Africa, wich greatly mimick M.S. symptoms. I felt that I was able to experience what Karin experienced early in her disease. Karin is not definded by M.S., but it does control her life. Karin is smart, funny, at times bossy, but most of all she’s the sisiter that when I look at her, I still see a tomboy playing hockey, a roomate in our days in Calgary, a maid of honor at my wedding, a loving mom, a vibrant and important person. To raise $20,000.00 dollars is my challenge and I look forward to beating it!
My heart is ever hopefull!
